Position Summary: The Quality Expert role plays a crucial role in upholding quality, food safety, safety, and process standards at Nespresso. As a Lead Quality Assurance professional, you will have the opportunity to promote awareness and ensure compliance throughout our organization.
In this dynamic position, you will take the lead in driving projects that aim to implement and establish quality-related processes and guidelines. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the satisfaction and safety of our valued customers, as well as the well-being of our dedicated employees. Key Responsibilities:
Certifications:
- Lead company-wide ISO Certification related to Quality, Safety & Health and Environmental, and support other external audits and inspection (health, safety and environment).
- Manage Nespresso USA Document Management System and ensure all documents are listed and followed by all departments.
- Coordinate the implementation of company-wide quality assurance processes. Ensure all departments adhere to Nespresso HQ Guidelines, assist departments to write quality related processes, procedures and training documents.
- Create and implement QSHE guidelines for the processes where it's missing or incomplete/outdated. Review and update current guidelines.
Compliance:
- Complete yearly audits in Boutiques, Warehouses, Food Suppliers, Co-packers, Recycling Centers, After Sales Centers and POS, evaluate audit findings and ensure actions are implemented and closed within reasonable and agreed timeframe including frequent trend analysis.
- Create and provide quality, food safety and safety training to boutiques, warehouses, point of sales, offices, recycling center, after sales center, events and other applicable stakeholders including all Boutique/Site Managers, Q-SHE coaches, and TL. Organize yearly Q-SHE Workshop to promote Quality, Food Safety and Safety awareness and strategy alignment.
- Lead market yearly traceability exercise and participate in HQ yearly traceability.
- Manage (improve and monitor) Products on Hold and claims process.
- Ensure all local developments comply with HQ standards and local legislation. Ensure all imported products comply with regulatory and FSMA rules (FSVP, FDA, prop 65, EPA, etc). Manage upcoming and new legislation analysis on food, machines and accessories, and yearly boutique water and ice analysis, along with validations of processes.
- Ensure safety programs and implementation are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and enforce employee's health and safety at work.
- Lead BCP program yearly review and implement improvements.
Complaints:
- Perform root cause analysis and ensure Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) are initiated, implemented and monitored for non-compliant situations.
- Lead the quarterly IRT (Issue Round Table) involving key stakeholders including Nestle Legal, Regulatory, Food-Safety Experts, PR, COE, Marketing to discuss potential crisis topics and generate actions.
- Lead Complaints Management involving all departments, challenge the action plans related to continual improvement and verify execution. Support each department to perform root cause analysis or GO SEE THINK DO or DMAIC projects when necessary.
- Perform Request for Assistance analysis with the support from COE to avoid Complaints by implementing action plans. Support company-wide crisis management process related to products.
Food Safety:
- Provide Food Safety technical expertise to boutiques, offices, events and other stakeholders.
- Review, improve and address gap on food defense program yearly.
- Train employees and newcomers on food safety, allergens and increase food safety awareness through initiatives.
- Ensure quality assurance policies and procedures are adhered to per food and safety guidelines and applicable laws.
- Perform Go See Think Do for any food safety incidents.
Projects/Administrative:
- Lead projects to assure quality awareness throughout the organization.
- Prepare Report MRQ (Management Review of Quality) yearly to communicate outcomes of quality and technical activities.
- Act as NCE Champion from TQM area, facilitate monthly operational review (OMP) and operational master plan (OMP), and ensure alignment with NCE initiatives.
- Provide timely updates and records on accomplishment of projects. Prepare reports to communicate outcome of quality and provide timely updates on accomplishment of projects.
Experience & Education Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Food Technology/Science/Engineering required.
- 3+ years experience working in the field of Safety, Quality or Environment, required.
- ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 22000, HACCP and audit experience desired.
- Project Management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Quality Management System.
- Ability to assess and write Quality related processes.
- Ability to train people.
- Data collection, management and analysis.
- Willingness to travel within US.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations a plus.
- Knowledge/use of Windows software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Team Player, ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Travel required, 30% (This job operates in a hybrid capacity between office and home office with travel to boutiques, trade partners and 3rd party warehouses).
The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
