Director, Marketplace Strategic Initiatives – Automotive
This Director, Marketplace Strategic Initiatives role will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives and business operations across the Automotive category. In this role, you will lead our strategic planning processes, drive competitive insights and trend analysis, and evaluate new expansion opportunities, recommendations, and GTM strategies. You will partner with Omni and product teams on category-specific initiatives (e.g., Fitment, category expansion, services, etc.) focused on accelerating the growth of the Automotive category and delivering best-in-class customer and seller experiences. This role involves high-level strategic thinking and executive communication, strong technical analytics skills, and a process-oriented mindset to drive outcomes.

You’ll make an impact by:
- Developing and driving Automotive strategic initiatives: Identify and implement vertical business and seller growth initiatives in conjunction with relevant strategy and product teams. Manage specific features, functionalities, and tooling enhancements through the development of business cases, product requirements, GTM plans, and overall project management.
- Delivering data-driven insights: Develop insightful market and business intelligence including industry trends, competitive threats, category/assortment opportunities, etc., and present recommendations for VP+ cross-functional audiences to gain buy-in.
- Leading strategic planning and business operations: Lead WBR, MBR reporting processes to monitor progress against goals and surface actionable insights. Drive long-term planning cycles, guiding top-down alignment for OKRs, goals, and bottoms-up assumptions supporting future growth.
- Implementing new processes and ways of working: Build effective ways of working across teams and drive collaboration and coordination across functions. Identify opportunity areas that create efficiency, remove obstacles, and improve business processes.
- Building cross-functional advocacy: Build strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partners, work collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve objectives and communicate with energy and positivity to motivate, influence, and inspire commitment and action.
- Developing Talent: Manage, coach, and train a team of high-performing Associates in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience in business or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12+ years of successful eCommerce, marketplace, strategy, business operations, or project management experience.
- 5+ years demonstrated experience managing a team.
- Experience in Automotive preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with deep experience across planning and forecasting, business performance analyses, market sizing, and business case development.
- Experience in leading commercial teams and managing change.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to drive business positive outcomes.
- Assertive, adaptable, and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
