Work Experience Requirements:
·At least 3-5 years of experience within a pharmaceutical and/or medical device company Medical Affairs department, preferably including some field-based Medical Science Liaison experience, and some exposure to dermatology and, preferably, skin cancer care.
·Preferred medical doctor (MD/DO) in a healthcare related field and at minimum a medical/healthcare degree.
·Experience analyzing, writing, understanding, communicating and managing the writing of study reports, posters and medical literature.
·Comfortable with clinical research design, methods, biometrics and effectively conveying findings to clinical peers and end users is preferred.
·Passion for building innovative, life-saving products; measuring your own success in terms of the success of the product and real-world impact.
·Familiarity with various healthcare systems and settings, their objectives and decision-making. Experience with health economics and outcomes research study methods preferred
·High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
·Ability to collaborate with team members under pressure and changing timelines and to iterate quickly.
·Superior verbal and written communication skills.
·Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, mostly within the United States, but also internationally.
Overall Job Scope (Roles and Responsibilities):
Based on candidate’s experience and interests, the role will include most of the following responsibilities:
- Serve as medical/scientific in-house advisor on the development of scientific content for product launches, claims, KOL interactions and point of view/public relations statements. Ensure the medical accuracy of promotional material.
- Potentially outline, write, edit content for and ensure accuracy of: sales aids, speaker presentations, trainings, educational and promotional webinars and live events, professional web sites, letters to healthcare professionals and responses to customer question/inquiries.
- Responsible for the execution of medical cross-functional efforts in full alignment with commercial, quality, regulatory and executive departments throughout DermaSensor.
- Assist internally and coordinate with physicians and writers for the planning, writing and publication of medical literature for peer-reviewed and other publications.
- Observe, identify and cross-fertilize key insights, solutions, tools and techniques on how customers address barriers to adoption and successful use within their setting. Attend and provide booth scientific/technical support at national, regional, and local medical conferences; conduct KOL meetings/discussions and lead other clinical and competitor insight gathering activities at these conferences.
- Support the CMO and/or Medical Affairs leadership in collaborating with internal and external experts in the development of studies, posters and publications.
- Coordinate and liaise closely with physicians and potential customers as the clinical/medical liaison during the conduct of post-marketing studies and product-market fit enhancement efforts.
- Evaluate proposals for and coordinate with investigators on investigator initiated studies (IIS).
- Provide medical/scientific guidance on the development of clinical studies.
- Identify thought leaders and influencers within dermatology and primary care clinician communities. Develop and maintain HCP relationships, become recognized as an informed, scientific peer, while ensuring interactions with HCPs comply with all applicable compliance policies.
- Serve as scientific resource to disease experts and the medical community with up-to-date relevant medical information and product information.
- Educate the medical community on current medical and scientific information, key insights and relevant product information.
- Gather and effectively communicate medical experts’ opinions and medical/clinical insights to other external and internal partners.
- Create and deliver fair-balanced clinical presentations in response to unsolicited questions in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.
