The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
Our New Medical Sensors, Strategic Marketing team based in Alameda, CA, is looking for an energetic and driven Senior Product Manager to launch new innovative products for our users.
This is a fully on-site position in our Alameda, CA office (required).
What you’ll work on
- Conduct upstream product marketing activities – lead market research efforts, set prices, create launch plan, collaborate with marketing managers on regional marketing campaigns, and monitor sales performance to effectively market assigned products/services.
- Prepare products for commercialization by working with cross-functional teams (Technical Product, R&D, Program Management, Quality, downstream Marketing, Commercial)
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate global trends, consumer behavior and competitor activity to optimize market opportunities for the product/service.
- Create launch plan and associated deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product labeling and documentation requirements.
- Prepare sales forecasts, collaborate with sales teams and operations; monitor sales volume, revenue and costs against forecasts.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance and customer feedback to generate new product ideas.
- Identify product/service changes to meet customer needs.
- Liaise with other areas of the organization (e.g., technical product leads, production, R&D) to implement these changes.
- Adapt plans to improve the sales performance of the product/service.
- Provide day to day product management support.
- Oversee product life cycle management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field – life sciences, business, marketing. MBA Preferred
- 8 years experience in medical device marketing, product management. Experience with products used in the hospital setting required.
