Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead multiple tax engagements, ensuring a balance between tax efficiency and strategic planning.
- Tax Preparation & Consulting: Prepare and review a variety of tax returns (multi-state, C corporation, pass-through entity, individual, and exempt organization filings). Participate in tax consulting activities such as entity conversions, cash to accrual adjustments, and R&D tax credits.
- Entity Variety: Work with a diverse range of entities, including corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, fiduciaries, and non-profits.
- Complex Research & Strategies: Conduct complex tax research to develop and establish tax strategies for client opportunities.
- IRS & State Issues: Advise clients on IRS and state issues, handle correspondence, and manage audits.
- Projections & Planning: Assist with interim tax projections, year-end closeouts, and provide tax advice considering new legislation and planning.
- Legislation & Planning: Implement tax advice in response to new legislation and evolving planning needs.
- Marketing & Development: Contribute to the firm's marketing and business development initiatives.
- Mentorship: Supervise, train, mentor, and guide tax staff and senior team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance with an active CPA License.
- Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in public accounting with a proven track record of providing excellent client service.
- Specialization: 3+ years of experience in Trust and Estate matters.
- Leadership: 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Skills: Strong leadership, management, and staff development abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Preferred proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, ProSystem fx, CCH Access, and BNA Tax Planner.
