As a member of the UHS Behavioral Health (BH) Executive Leadership Team, the Senior Vice President, Business Development/Chief Growth Officer drives growth and expansion of the division's national portfolio of facilities, programs and services. Develops and implements comprehensive growth strategies to increase market share. Creates new pathways to growth by optimizing trends and data.
- Oversees the business development operations, facility volume growth, service line growth and national sales for the BH Division. Spearheads the planning, development, and execution of all business development, sales, and growth including the build out of sales strategies for key target segments including Military and VA services, substance use disorder, outpatient expansion, opioid use disorder and other product expansions.
- Sets a division wide business development vision and structure that mobilizes and supports continued volume growth across the behavioral health continuum across existing and new markets and channels. Works with the Marketing department, Managed Care team, and across all senior operational VPs to ensure sales, growth, and business development activities are aligned with organizational goals.
Knowledge
- 15+ years senior leadership experience in a hospital, health system, managed care, healthcare services or large matrixed organization.
- 10 years + preferred in multi-hospital and/or multi-market environment.
- A strong track record of success in business development in health care with expansive knowledge of referral sources, patterns, and relationships.
- Experience in the development, implementation, and/or oversight of health care market and service line sales strategies.
- Understanding unique needs of Behavioral Health and technology a plus.
- Experience commercializing health products to consumers, patients, payers, employers, government agencies, members, and/or providers preferred.
- Travel - 50%+
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.

- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment; be nimble and adaptable, handle ambiguity. Strong interpersonal skills. Able to rapidly create credible relationships with external and internal partners.
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills, with the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with all organizational levels, including senior and executive level audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
- Proficient in PC software (i.e., Microsoft Office).
- Drives the behavioral health division business development and sales strategy teams to ensure growth plan for the division. Communicates the vision and priorities across the company to all relevant stakeholders. Cultivates a high performing sales team.
- Collaborates with the Product Department on strategy development, sales plan, and execution for service lines across the division. Determines which strategic partnerships will most benefit UHS in the product space and develops those relationships.
- Ensures the presence of a national sales strategy to grow capacity and volume across the division via existing channels and the development of new opportunities for growth. Builds out distribution channels across consumers, patients, payers, employers, government agencies, members, and/or providers.
- Partners with the operational SVPs to develop and drive the growth strategy for the BH division. Builds trusting relationships and inspires others through exemplary leadership behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.
