To support this, we are currently looking for a Director of Investment Accounting in our Warren, New Jersey headquarters.

You will interact and support several aspects of accounting, financial analysis, and reporting for the group. This is a remote-hybrid position where you are required to be in the office three days a week and the remaining days you can work from home.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accounting and reporting of investments on a GAAP and Statutory basis.
Support the management of the monthly and quarterly investment close process.
Preparation and or review of various U.S. statutory investment schedules.
Preparation and or review of various U.S. GAAP investment disclosures.
Support local reporting of foreign branches and subsidiaries.
Coordinate with financial reporting and investment management teams.
Support the preparation of standard and ad-hoc reports for senior leadership.
Establishing and maintaining internal controls.
Research accounting issues for new investment structures and coordinate any changes required in workflow and operations.
Assist with the review of fair value of investments and related impairment analysis.
Providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses along with account reconciliations.
Assist with ad-hoc analyses and strategic projects determined by the needs of senior management.

Work Experience and Qualifications

10+ years of experience in accounting; public accounting and public company reporting environment a plus.
Solid understanding of investment accounting and reporting under U.S. GAAP.
Experience with U.S. insurance statutory accounting and reporting a plus.
Leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop staff.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented and highly organized.
Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Highly proficient with Excel.
Excellent critical thinking skills.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in accounting.
Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent certification) preferred.
Knowledge of PAM and Bloomberg a plus.
Insurance/ reinsurance industry experience a plus.
