TITLE: Senior Reactor Operator Candidate

LOCATION: Kemmerer, Wy

TerraPower is seeking to hire a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) candidate who will report directly to the Senior Manager, Operations at Kemmerer Unit 1 (KU1). The candidate will participate in training to obtain an SRO license for the Natrium plant, support training programs, develop procedures, and coordinate with various departments for efficient operations. Responsibilities include procedure development, design reviews, and training program development, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. The ideal candidate should have a Senior Reactor Operator license or equivalent, along with experience in nuclear power plant operations and a Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering.

Responsibilities

Participate in training to obtain an SRO license for the Natrium plant.
Provide assistance and support to other members of the class for a successful training program.
Coordinate with other departments for procedure development, design reviews, and training development.
Develop electronic procedures using smart procedures or similar tools.
Engage with industry peers and organizations for innovative methods and technologies.
Ensure compliance with company standards, NRC regulations, and other requirements.
Develop and maintain plant design and operations knowledge.
Assist in establishing department goals and budgeted activities.
Perform other assigned tasks supporting site procedure development schedules.

Discipline-Specific Education and Experience

Senior Reactor Operator license preferred. May accept Reactor Operator license or SRO Certification.
3 years commercial nuclear power plant operator experience.
5 years experience working at a commercial nuclear power plant.
Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering required.

Key Qualifications and Skills

High level of knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and terminology.
Experience with interpreting nuclear information and standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Attention to detail and aspiration for excellence.
Self-starter with innovative problem-solving skills.

Job Functions

Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands).
Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
Repetitive work: Prolonged.
Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work.
Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day.
Travel required: 0-5%.

Salary Range Level 12: $137,510 - $190,549

*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 - 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual's qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Kemmerer, WY.
