What You Will Do:
Guidehouse has an exciting opportunity in our Defense and Security Segment to support the implementation of a major Department of State (DOS) Information Technology (IT) modernization effort. The Business Analyst will be a key project team member and will be responsible for conducting discovery of existing business process, to include analyzing and documenting requirements for the client’s future IT enterprise system modernization needs. The individual will support the Product Delivery team, work with Business Owners, provide functional expertise, and translate business requirements and needs to the program team.
The Individual will regularly interact with senior government officials, staff, and will be engaged in a diverse set of program-specific tasks related to a DOS Bureau enterprise IT system. The individual should possess a willingness to be flexible in supporting numerous work products and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs, ultimately producing clear proposals, documentation, and/or deliverables.
Provides clear, routine and effective communication between Product Delivery Team, Business Owners, and key stakeholders
Documents requirements and business workflows
Works closely with product owners and managers to convert business use cases into actionable tasks for the technical teams
Writes user stories and ensures stories and tasks are complete prior to sprint planning
Conducts presentations and communicates product features to Product Delivery Team and Business Owners aids in the coordination and communication of cross-team initiatives
Performs dedicated issue/risk/change management and solutioning
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
Bachelor's Degree -OR- FOUR (4) years' experience in information technology may be used in lieu of education
Four (4) or more years of experience supporting IT projects AND/OR consulting experience
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Expertise in Department of State management policies, processes, and procedures specifically, maintaining an understanding of the Department’s financial and budgetary processes
Ability to work independently
Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
Understanding of Agile methodologies & frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
Experience with Azure DevOps
Possesses knowledge of federal budget related to budget formulation, planning and execution
The annual salary range for this position is $109,100.00-$163,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
