The Team:
Launched in 2017, Nasdaq Ventures is a global venture investing program with a top quartile return focused on cultivating talent and technology advancement within financial services—spurring innovation that aligns with and accelerates our vision to reimagine the markets of tomorrow. We invest in companies across seven key themes: capital markets infrastructure, data analytics and capital markets workflow tools, anti-financial crime, blockchain and digital assets, ESG, new marketplaces, and enabling technologies. Your role and responsibilities:
Nasdaq Ventures provides unique exposure to the world of corporate venture capital and financial technology. As a Senior Analyst, you will be an integral part of our small and collaborative team of venture professionals (which will total 6 with this addition). You will assist the team in evaluating new investments and support ad-hoc portfolio management activities. You will work collaboratively with the strategy leads for each of Nasdaq’s business units, present opportunities to senior Nasdaq leadership, and meet dozens of passionate founders from across the globe.
Sourcing:
- Conduct industry research, company screening, and competitive benchmarking
- Read & review business plans and pitch decks
- Assess market/company attractiveness and potential strategic synergies to help identify compelling businesses
- Manage/document meetings with entrepreneurs and general deal flow
Transaction Execution:
- Assist with the preparation of investment memos and presentations, term sheet review, structuring and negotiation, due diligence, valuation analysis, financial modeling, review of definitive transaction documents
Portfolio Management:
- Attend board meetings in a non-voting observer capacity
- Track and report on performance of portfolio
- Support business development to drive synergies between Nasdaq businesses and portfolio companies
You will need the following skills and experience
- Basic understanding of venture capital and a desire to learn about capital markets technology, market structure, data, and workflows
- 1-2 years of total prior work experience including at a minimum either of:
- +1 year of full-time work experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital or private equity
- +1 year of full-time work experience in corporate development or at a startup (preferably in product management, finance, or engineering)
- Significant relevant internship experience
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects and meet associated deadlines across multiple assignments
- Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and quantitative skill
- Extraordinary attention to detail
- Team-oriented
- Polished abilities with Excel and PowerPoint

The base pay range for this role is $73,200 - $122,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
