Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

The Senior Compensation Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of compensation programs for the organization. He/she will conduct market analysis to research trends and compensation initiatives in the energy sector and provide recommendations/solutions as well as administrator systems that support these programs. The position reports directly to the Director Compensation and Benefits.

Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in both formal and informal compensation surveys, and analyze data from survey sources to determine market competitiveness both internally and externally.
- Research and assess market prevalence and trends regarding variable pay program designs and targets.
- Assist in preparation of annual compensation cycles related to merit and incentive (STI and LTI) programs.
- Work closely with Human Resources Business Partners to develop job specifications ensuring consistency with other jobs in the same compensation band and job family progressions. Market price new jobs utilizing salary surveys.
- Provide analytical support regarding ad hoc research and other related compensation projects as identified by leadership.
- Demonstrate understanding of the requirements/data elements to create reports which streamline and support compensation programs.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for internal controls.
- Advise management and staff regarding compensation best practices, policy interpretation, issue resolution, and compliance.
- Provide system administration supporting the compensation programs, which include: Job Profiles, Compensation Salary Grade Structure and related incentive Targets (Workday), Long Term Incentive Plans (Solium/Shareworks), and Survey Market Data (PayScale/MarketPay).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Well versed in HRIS with prior experience using Workday/Advanced Compensation modules is preferred.
- Experience working with Long Term Incentive Plans and systems that support these programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge in Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to apply discretion as it relates to confidential or sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and/or within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication with a strong customer service focus.
Education or Training:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field; other degrees will be considered, depending on work experience. Industry certifications preferred.
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years’ previous experience in a similar capacity and knowledge of long term incentive programs is highly preferred. Prior work experience in the energy sector is desired, but not required.

- Some travel may be necessary.
