Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Financial Services Manager, coordinates and performs a variety of skilled accounting functions, provides support, and will back-up the Financial Services Manager. Responsibilities include:
- Assist customers, via telephone or walk-in, with new or renewed Occupational Licenses matters.
- Issue annual renewal of Occupational Licenses.
- Responsible for the collection of Occupational License fees, penalties, and interest, if applicable.
- Scans, saves to network, and files all department documents.
- Records all deposits on a daily basis, including bank deposits, credit card deposits, and ACH deposits.
- Records all payrolls via journal entries, including salaries and wages, taxes, employee retirement contributions, and calculating and recording the employer retirement match.
- Post monthly interest earned on bank accounts.
- Receive, code, enter, and post accounts payable invoices for the City and IBTS. Print accounts payable checks weekly.
- Assist with the annual capital assets and inventory review and report.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reconciliations for all funds.
- Cross-train on other accounting tasks, including but not limited to monthly permit reports/invoices, monthly financial statements, monthly investment entries/reconciliations, annual budget/budget adjustments, and fund accounting.
- Assist with other accounting tasks, including but not limited to the annual financial audit, workers' comp audit, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as a backup for handling public records requests.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: At least two years of accounting experience; experience in a municipal government setting is a plus.

- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
