We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant with expertise in ADAS, EVs and/or AVs for our Automotive Practice in our MI or IL offices. The candidate should have a fundamental interest in the automotive field and be motivated to develop and grow this practice area within ESi.
Key Responsibilities
- Support existing consulting projects that involve the analysis and testing of advanced vehicle technologies, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automated vehicles (AVs), electric vehicles (EVs), and micromobility products.
- Develop specialized expertise in the automotive field such as the design, performance, and testing of existing or emerging automotive technology.
- Perform vehicle crash investigation, reconstruction, and analysis with a focus on cases involving ADAS.
- Perform marketing activities and pursue business development opportunities to identify potential clients and strategies to build client base nationwide.
- Develop and grow this practice area.
- Develop proposals and perform research of various advanced vehicle technologies. Author and publish related technical papers.
- Set up and execute various test programs, including full-scale vehicle tests and component or control systems evaluations.
- Manage projects from initiation to completion. Prepare technical, project-related reports on a timely basis for clients as required.
- Testify in court proceedings (depositions and/or trials) on behalf of clients as required.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of work experience in ADAS, electric vehicles (EVs), automated vehicles (AVs), and/or micromobility products.
- Ability to generate business and manage client relationships.
- Knowledge of automotive systems.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred; required to obtain PE if candidate does not possess.
- Versatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime, and travel as required.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information and present it to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Clear written communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience validating ADAS features is a plus.
- NHTSA, OEM, or Vehicle Safety background is a plus.
