Job Summary
The Consulting Analyst plays a critical role with the development and support of HCA Healthcare’s Information Protection and Security Program (IPS), as well as the Company’s compliance, governance, and strategy relative to information protection. The Consulting Analyst interacts extensively with leadership and business owners across the enterprise and provides guidance and consultative support on privacy and security related matters.
Major Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development of the company privacy risk assessment strategy to review business processes and evaluate privacy controls necessary to protect sensitive information.
- Identifies, minimizes and mitigates legal and regulatory privacy and security compliance risks.
- Leads the tracking, trending, processing, mitigation and resolution requirements for Privacy Reportable Issues reported in accordance with corporate policy, including those matters that rise to the level of a breach.
- Serves as the System Administrator of the Privacy Reportable Issue Tool.
- Analyzes and presents risk assessment findings to IPS leadership and recommends corrective action necessary to mitigate identified risks.
- Assists in responding to enterprise-wide inquiries submitted to centralized support mailboxes managed by IPS.
- Acts as a privacy subject matter expert relative to the application of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HITECH Act, and company policies and procedures.
- Identifies trends and leads educational opportunities relative to privacy and security issues and recommends and/or develops tools and resources to address them.
- Builds and develops strategic working relationships across all lines of business and project partners to identify, evaluate, and reduce privacy and security risks.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Proven experience in privacy, information security, and risk management in the healthcare environment and privacy and security regulations (e.g., HITECH, HIPAA).
- A proven track record in creating and maintaining strong business relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; creative thinker with strong analytical skills; the ability to communicate privacy, security, and risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences; persuasive, encouraging, motivating, and inspiring.
- Experience in developing and accessing technical and process-based controls, managing risk assessments/investigations, and working with organization management to integrate controls into the scope of existing business practices.
- Independent, yet collaborative.
- High degree of initiative, dependability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to handle ambiguity and sometimes changing priorities.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree Preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Required
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Licenses, Certifications, & Training:
- Certifications such as CHPS, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, GSEC, and/or CISM are preferred. Preferred
Additional Information:
- Candidate must live in/near the Greater Nashville, TN area or be willing to relocate to the area.
- Hybrid role once training has been completed.
