Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our ambulatory pharmacy team to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.
Preferred Experience/Credentials
- Providing patient care as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) or equivalent
- Direct patient care experience of 1-2 years in primary care setting with emphasis on diabetes, anticoagulation, lipids, HTN, obesity, osteoporosis patient management
- PGY2 Ambulatory residency or equivalent experience
- Current BCPS or BCACP (board certification will be required post-employment for credentialing)
Essential functions include:
- Partnership with NHMG providers and clinical staff to provide remarkable patient care.
- Medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Promotes high quality, evidence-based, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
- Precepting of residents (PGY1/PGY2) and students.
- Participation in pharmacy and NHMG committees and shared governance.
- Have a clear understanding of quality improvement principles.
- Contributes to process improvement projects.
- Supports the educational and professional development of the department and system.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrating proficiency with equipment and software.

Qualifications
- Education: 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, required. Doctorate of Pharmacy, preferred.
- Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, required. Ambulatory/clinic experience strongly preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role; excludes PRN team members who may not be eligible to take certification exam, required.
- Additional Skills Required: Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change-ready and resilient team.
