Job Details:This is a staff level position in which the Nuclear Medicine technologist produces quality diagnostic medicine exams on patients of all ages using the Philips SkyLight gamma camera and associated equipment for imaging and image manipulation. The technologist utilizes all other related equipment in this area to prepare appropriate radiopharmaceutical doses and maintain quality control records. Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and with strict adherence to quality parameters as determined by Ohio Department of Health and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Nuclear Medicine technologists educate patients and their parents regarding procedures performed within the department. The technologist recognizes and advocates for each patient being an individual with unique healthcare needs and provides considerate, respectful care affirming the patient's/parent's right to make decisions regarding their medical care. The Nuclear Medicine technologist works with other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care for individual patients. The technologist is also required to participate with other technologists in this area for "on call" rotation.
Department Specific Job Details:Required: High School/GED, Associate's Degree in science is required. 1-2 specializing in Nuclear Medicine w/ experience in Pediatrics preferred. Licensure/Certification by NMTCB is required. CPR certification required.
