Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner supporting our Aviation group, which consists of support for all employees and managers in this assigned group. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with senior executives, directors, managers, and employees on performance management, employee relations, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and organization planning and development. This position will be based in our Dayton, OH office, with the ability to work remotely up to three days per week. This role will report directly to the Director of Human Resources, with a dotted line to the Executive Director of the assigned portfolio.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serve as an HR Business Partner to support compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, legal compliance, metrics & reporting, performance management, and HR process improvement for assigned client groups.
- Provide direction, counsel/coaching, and business analytics that enable leaders to make sound talent decisions and promote employee engagement and healthy/positive/productive employee relations.
- Proactively work with the business to implement and strategically drive talent management programs to improve leadership capabilities and ensure succession planning, high potential identification, and development objectives to achieve overall business strategy.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees to provide advice and counsel on both employee-related and organizational matters.
- Promote high professional standards and positive interpersonal relationships and consistently demonstrate a commitment to exceptional employee support.
- Identify and diagnose issues proactively and develop, recommend, and implement root cause solutions that enhance employee engagement/experience and business results promptly.
- Participate and lead projects and special initiatives as assigned within and outside the HR function.
- Lead change management initiatives in support of business objectives.
- Improve HR processes in support of the business to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Bring creativity and innovative thinking to the process.
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or Masters preferred.
Years of Experience: At least five (5) to seven (7) years of experience as an HR Business Partner supporting a large client group or multiple client groups within a company.
Certifications: SHRM certification is highly desired.
Technical Skills
- Demonstrated experience coaching business leaders and facilitating organizational change.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all Human Resources functions, focusing on retaining and developing talent.
- Project management experience leading teams to address complex issues.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and organize workload to ensure that short timelines are met given frequent interruptions.
- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative - has a track record of delivering on commitments.
- HRIS experience, UKGPro is preferred.
- DoD/government or related industry experience is highly preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to influence, coach, and consult with all levels of the organization in a positive and effective manner.

Please note: Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
