The EB Practice Leader will be responsible for helping the EB service team navigate the evolving demands of our clients, our market and our industry. This person must be able to think holistically to meet current challenges as well as identify future opportunities and obstacles. They will lead by example and carry a servant's heart, with the team's best interest at the forefront of the group's decision making. They must also have a constant desire to improve the performance, communication and overall morale of the team.
Employee Benefits Department Leader and Resource Role
- Manage EB Account Executives, Account Managers and Associate Account Managers, including but not limited to, assistance in hiring, lead in training and onboarding and lead in daily supervision. This also includes leading accountabilities, involvement in salary discussions, approving PTO and timesheets and ongoing account management skill development training
- Support growth of new employee benefit clients by leading the New Business Engineer SME and working closely with the sales team under the HealthSure business model
- Attend all Employee Benefit meetings, including but not limited to, AE Meetings, AM Meetings, AAM Meetings and Department Meetings
- Coordinate department meetings and AE Meetings by creating the agenda, leading the meeting and following up on all action items
- Lead the development, updating and implementing of departmental workflows and procedures
- Relationship and technical leader for EB carriers: lead efforts to establish solid relationships with carriers and vendors, including benefit and commission negotiation and securing plan designs from carriers that best serve our clients; present changes and enhancements to EB team as needed
- Work with Communications Coordinator on EB client communications so messages are consistent and relevant
- Attend industry meetings, trade shows and conferences
- Lead in the creation and updates of templates, forms, presentations, engagement agreements and letters used by the EB department as needed
- Work with IT Coordinator to routinely evaluate current technology and continuously improve effectiveness and efficiencies
Client Satisfaction, Retention & Account Management Ownership
- Ability and willingness to participate and contribute to performance of team (i.e. sharing knowledge, team projects)
- Work within the company's Services Plan to retain at least 90% of revenue for assigned book of business.
- Take primary ownership of assigned clients
- Clear, timely and consistent communication with clients, producers and carriers
- Ensure "satisfied" Customer Satisfaction scores
- Maintain Client relationships that resolve: Specific client needs, potential service challenges, carrier shortcomings, client claims/concerns
- Lead all client meetings and follow a process where key questions are asked, client expectations are clear and confidence is demonstrated to ensure clients follow our advice
- Communication of relevant insurance concepts, explanations of coverage and applicable claim examples
- Clearly document every exchange within the Applied system
- Embrace the company's process for new account hand-off to ensure that you are focused on retaining and growing existing accounts and the Sales Team is focused on new business development
- Practicing EB license for at least 10 years
- Retail EB agency experience for at least 5 years
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Adobe and ability to utilize computer program and understand functionality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, problem solving and decision making abilities
- Above average analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- The desire and willingness to continue to grow and learn
- EB healthcare experience
TRAVEL
- Some travel will be required (30% to 40%)
- We're open to this individual being remote in the state of Texas, with the expectation to be in office (Austin) once a month
