Job Description: L3Harris is currently seeking a Scientist, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule.
Essential Functions: - Actively drive execution of development schedules in support of program Milestones.
- Keep PE/PM/Leadership aware of current status/issues/blockers/risks
- Represent Software Engineering at Engineering Program Review and other leadership/stakeholder meetings regarding development status, plans, and Action Items.
- Facilitate collaboration across Software Engineering groups
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
- Manage complex, cross-functional software engineering projects with strategic significance.
- Influence acceptance of new practices, approaches, and technologies in software engineering.
- Document software designs, practices, and development procedures.
- Support continuous improvement, process innovation and lessons learned activities into software development process.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications: - Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S Citizenship.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Additional Skills: - TS/SCI Clearance
- 10+years in Object Oriented Programming with a strong focus on Java
- 10+ years using software configuration management tools (e.g. Git, SVN, etc.)
- Experience breaking down intricate projects into manageable segments, delegating the tasks to appropriate team members, and meticulously supervising the progression to ensure successful completion.
- Basic financial acumen with the ability to discern how operational changes can enhance profitability.
- Experience with communications system integration, RF systems, computer, network, storage, software development, Multi-Level Security systems, and mission interface designs.
- Understanding of virtualization, containerization, and hybrid computing environments.
- Independent work ethic, following verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills: disciplined approach to prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing concurrent responsibilities.
