Summary: The Manager Pharmacy Support Services oversees daily operations in area of responsibility such as Compliance, Procurement, and Informatics. Works with personnel to assure safe and efficient patient care. This person also works closely with the Director and Pharmacy leadership team to optimize the provision of pharmaceutical care and achievement of other departmental and hospital strategic goals and objectives.
Required Education
Doctorate of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy (if obtained prior to 2000)
Required Work Experience
Related Field - 5 years with 3 years of leadership experience
Required Certifications
Pharmacist - Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
Job Responsibilities
- Manages or supervises Pharmacy support services activities including: purchasing, inventory control, regulatory compliance, information systems, floor stock requisitions and manufacturing in order to achieve and maintain a safe and effective medication use system.
- Works with pharmacy leadership team and others to oversee installation, maintenance and optimization of Pharmacy systems and technologies.
- Works with Pharmacy leadership team and P&T Stewardship Committee on formulary management and response to medication shortages and recalls.
- Works with Director of Pharmacy and Business Operations Manager on financial analysis of purchasing and inventory trends and helps prepare budget.
- Manages and oversees maintenance and support of Inventory Management software.
- Operates within allocated budget. Provides documentation necessary for budget requests.
- Hire, terminate, evaluate, coach, counsel and train staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
