Position Summary
To provide friendly, responsive, and exceptional guest service to ensure the guests of Luna Grill will become “Raving Fans.”
- Ensures the guest has a great experience by following standards, the sequence of service, and always having guest awareness.
- Informs guests of LTO’s and menu changes and makes recommendations accordingly.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the brand and menu items by answering questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
- Takes guests’ food orders and handles cash and credit transactions according to standards.
- Works with kitchen team to meet any special requirements for ingredients and preparation of food.
- Delivers food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Performs side work at the start and end of each shift as required and gets checked out of position by MOD.
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and mise en place in the service area, dining room, and restrooms.
- Monitors and observes guests’ dining experience. Ensures guests are satisfied with the food and service. Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Thanks guests for their visit and invites them to return.
- Attends all scheduled team member meetings/training and brings suggestions for improvements.
- Clocks in and out of the restaurant in a timely manner.
- Team Members must adhere to Rest & Meal Policy.
- Takes necessary meal and rest breaks accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess and instill high quality standards for production and guest service.
- Detail oriented, organized, and efficient. Safety-minded. Effective communication skills.
- Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Trustworthy and reliable. Possess strong basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in the primary language of the work location.
Education/Experience Requirements
Restaurant experience preferred but not required. Cash handling experience a plus.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks continuously (up to 5 hours) through the shift. Frequent bending, bending and twisting neck and waist, reaching above and below shoulders and squat, using hands, reaching or grasping with hands and arms, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must comply with Company’s Appearance and Dress Code standard as set forth in the Team Member Handbook. Works primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted environment. May make trips to the kitchen, where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floors are uneven and may be slippery from moisture and grease.
