The types of projects the co-op can expect to be involved in include:
• Designing equipment, layouts, piping, and parts.
• Supervising project-related items and equipment/parts installations.
• Maintaining/updating drawings and equipment files.
• Meeting with contractors, vendors, engineers, etc.
• Researching files to obtain information to answer questions relating to various mill equipment and processes.
• Assisting with the development of engineering schedules, budgets, and projects as assigned.
• Assisting the Maintenance Engineer in all other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
• In pursuit of earning a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar from an accredited institution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a solid mathematics background (trigonometry is essential).
• Ability to envision things before they are designed, constructed, or fabricated.
• Must be willing to work in dirty, noisy, hot, humid environments.
• Must be able to work at high elevations or within confined spaces.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
• Read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, scales, etc.
