RN SURGICAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT / NIGHTS
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team in Mission Viejo, CA. The SICU is a critical 20-bed unit specializing in neuro and trauma care for the most complex cases. As a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level II Trauma Center, our unit is pivotal in managing neuro/TBI/Stroke/spinal cord injuries, complex surgeries, and trauma alongside critical medical care patients. This full-time night shift role offers a rewarding and challenging environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Compensation: $129,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine the most effective, personalized care plans.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and promptly address any sudden or sustained changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Manage and operate life-support systems and other medical equipment with precision and care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and ongoing care or rehabilitation needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care and progress to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care or intensive care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a neuro or trauma critical care unit.
- Familiarity and competence in using various clinical technologies and software used in the ICU.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
- Efficient decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong empathy and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and hospital staff.
