Surgical Services Nurse Manager
The Surgical Services Nurse Manager at our esteemed healthcare facility in Buckeye Lake, OH is a pivotal leadership role entrusted with managing the surgical services unit. This role entails overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring that high-quality patient care standards are met and maintained in compliance with hospital policies and practices. Compensation: $39.50 - $53.00 per hour, eligible for an annual bonus of up to 12%
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Directly supervise all surgical nursing staff, manage staffing schedules, and ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations and standards.
- Coordinate the admission, discharge, and transfer process to optimize patient flow and minimize delays.
- Analyze unit operations data to identify trends, make decisions on resource allocation, and implement process improvements.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and retention of personnel, focusing on development and mentoring of staff to achieve career and organizational goals.
- Maintain up-to-date patient records and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA laws and hospital protocols.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary teamwork within the department to foster an inclusive environment for quality care delivery and professional growth.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and develop evidence-based practices in collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Active Ohio RN License.
- CPR certification.
- Minimum of two (2) years of previous inpatient acute care experience.
- Demonstrable experience in managing a nursing unit or similar healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
- Prior experience in surgical services or a related specialty area is highly desirable.
- Certified Nurse Manager Leader (CNML) credential.
- Experience with EMR systems and healthcare informatics.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team against measurable performance indicators.
