Description:
The manager is responsible for all aspects of assigned unit/s activities; collaborates with leadership departments and physicians on behalf of improving care to the patients served by the unit. Develops, maintains, and monitors clinical standards, and maintains 24-hour line responsibility for fiscal, human, and material resources for assigned unit. Functions as an integral part of the leadership team and participates in other assigned duties to meet organizational performance standards. This position reports to Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience:
- Associate degree (ADN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing or diploma in nursing required
- Bachelor's degree (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing or related field desired
- At least 3 years clinical experience required
- Management experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Skills in performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities required
- Skills in interpersonal relationships with the ability to get along with diverse personalities and ability to be tactful, mature and flexible required
- Skills in reasoning, problem-solving, making effective decisions and using sound judgement required
- Skills in time management with the ability to work independently and take initiative required
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing required
- Ability to use tact, diplomacy and professionalism in all aspects of the position required
- Computer keyboard and computer operating knowledge required; experience with Microsoft Office products and software relevant to duties required
Licensure, registration and certification:
- BLS Required
- ACLS on designated units
- Active Kansas Nursing license
- Certification in area of specialty highly desired
