Responsibilities
Join our dedicated healthcare team at OHH, where we prioritize patient-centered care and collaborative practice. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary health care and selective medical services under the supervision of our physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical histories, assess conditions, and interpret findings.
- Prepare and maintain patient records, dictating reports accurately.
- Establish effective working relationships with patients, families, and staff.
- Manage own clinic for follow-up appointments and evaluate new consults.
- Provide clinical evaluations and documentation, including H&P and discharge summaries.
- Respond to physician pager calls during procedures as directed.
- Perform comprehensive health histories and physicals, and document daily progress.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, and formulate diagnoses based on patient data.
- Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies within scope of practice.
- Evaluate and modify care plans based on patient responses.
- Identify patient teaching needs and provide appropriate resources.
- Assist team members and physicians with patient care and procedures.
- Review chest x-rays and implement emergency measures when necessary.
- Manage outpatient clinic patients (e.g., coumadin, heart failure).
- Document all patient encounters using the S.O.A.P format.
- Ensure timely completion of medical records and billing documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to meet patient needs.
- Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Mentor and orient new team members, fostering a learning environment.
- Maintain knowledge through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications
Education: Completion of a formal program of study approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing which is designed to prepare registered nurses to perform in an expanded role in the delivery of health care OR Baccalaureate degree with a minimum of two years of college credit or graduate from ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on education for the Physician Assistant) approved program.
Licensure/Certification: National certification from a national certifying body acceptable by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing OR Current license as a Physician Assistant with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure. Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.
Experience: Cardiology experience preferred.
