Sign on Bonus:
- $3,000 for full-time positions (for external candidates)
- $1,500 for part-time positions (for external candidates)

Pay Range: $19.61 - $27.71 / hour

Job Summary:
The PSR II represents the face of our company to patients who come to Quest Diagnostics. The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. This role involves direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, in a house call environment, long-term care, or as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities:
- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions according to established training.
- Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders.
- Complete all data entry requirements accurately.
- Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
- Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, and splitting as required.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, and answering phones.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information post-venipuncture.
- Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
- Complete training courses to stay updated on phlebotomy techniques.
- Travel to Territory Manager meetings as required.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Communicate professionally with clients to resolve or refer issues.
- Ensure safety precautions are followed by staff.
- Assist supervisors with the implementation of SOPs for phlebotomy services.
- Maintain facilities in good repair and report maintenance issues.
- Act as a coach and mentor for new employees.
- Assist with inventory counts and report shortages.
- Prepare schedules for the assigned workgroup.
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable.
- Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift light to moderately heavy objects.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand.
- Position requires travel.
- Extensive use of phone and PC.
Knowledge:

- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Skills:
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
License/Certifications: Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states, e.g. California, Nevada, Washington, and Louisiana)
