How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
Plan and schedule parts production for Delta's aviation overhaul/repair facility in support of Delta's fleet operations and external customer requirements. The Material Controller is responsible for coordinating the prime shop's production for station allocations, live aircraft, hangar, engine, and external customer demand (MRO), to ensure serviceable units are available when and where they are needed throughout Delta's worldwide operating system. Coordinates with Maintenance Leads/Foremen, maintenance technicians, shop coordinators, and inventory analysts to ensure requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties include:
- Capacity planning
- Production status reporting
- Formulation of daily shop prioritization reports
- Job/work package assignments and throughput metrics
- Identifying production constraints, material shortages, and surplus/scrap opportunities
- Parts receipt, handling/protection, outbound deliveries, and inventory control in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Directing AMT repair activities related to changing operational requirements
- Ensuring all repairs are in accordance with applicable repair instructions related to EO/AD identification and accomplishment
- Compliance oversight per Delta's policies and procedures
- Adherence to applicable governmental regulation
- Maintaining repair/compliance documents in accordance with FAR 121.380
- Managing repair records, configuration control, NOAA tracking systems, unit cost capture, and warranty recovery
- Maintaining a safe, compliant work center in accordance with federal and company guidelines
- Practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- High school graduate or equivalent, applicable advanced education desirable
- Must have a general understanding of Technical Operations - Engine / Hangar / Component / Materiel Management operations and processes
- Applicants must be physically able to lift up to 70 lbs. and perform all the necessary duties of the job
- Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Work experience in Technical Operations - Component Maintenance, Materiel Management or Logistics/Shipping preferred
- Appropriate leadership experience preferred
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required; familiarity with Microsoft Access preferred
- Experience and proficiency with Delta computer systems (SAP, MIRS) preferred; experience with CAPS, SAP, GEM, RGM and SCEPTRE preferred
