Financial and Capital Budget Analyst
This position is located on the Cornell University Campus in Ithaca, New York. You will be expected to work in Ithaca, although you may be permitted to perform a portion of your work remotely.

The University Budget Office, overseen by the Division of Budget and Planning (DBP), works with units across the university to develop, report and implement the Ithaca campus operating budget.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Financial and Capital Budget Analyst is a member of a four-person team within the University Division of Budget and Planning. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a University 10 Year Financial Model.
- Assisting and coordinating with Colleges and Units to develop their own long-range modeling and plans.
- Compiling the annual capital budget and five-year capital plan, supporting leadership within the Division of Budget and Planning in preparing analyses and reports.
- Close collaboration with various departments to ensure the University’s capital projects are accurately reported.
- Performing analysis on individual Colleges and Units.
What is required:
- Associate’s degree and 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
- Demonstrated experience using reasoning skills and sound judgment.
- Organized with ability to independently plan and prioritize responsibilities.
- Business, analytical and reporting skills, including experience utilizing advanced spreadsheets and databases.
- Strong customer service and communications skills.
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Applications, specifically Excel and Access.
- Working knowledge of Tableau.
- Familiarity with Cornell accounting and budgeting systems.
