As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.
The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner (Sr.HRBP) with a focus on Projects and Process Improvement, not only functions as a true senior level Generalist, but will also serve a critical role in assisting the US HR Leader in developing the HR infrastructure and establishing strong and logical working conditions. The incumbent will actively participate in the development and administration of comprehensive human resource policies and procedures. He or she will be able to analyze and report on key HR metrics and apply findings to support business units in the areas of employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change management, benefits administration, FAA drug and alcohol program compliance, unemployment, performance management, and salary administration.
Strong problem solving and investigation skills will be utilized on a daily basis and the incumbent must be proficient at conducting complicated investigations in a timely manner that may involve leaders and employees, alike. The incumbent must possess unwavering confidentiality standards, speak with HR authority, and be approachable to all levels of our workforce. In addition, the incumbent will have extensive experience in identifying accurate root causes for HR related problems, be able to translate findings into standardized and scalable process improvements, develop well documented policies and SOPs, and deliver impactful training to leaders on HR policies and processes.
The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, an unwavering attention to detail and be able to effectively work autonomously while also partnering with key stakeholders through influence and not authority. This role also requires an individual with good interpersonal and communication skills to manage all parties involved with the process and be comfortable working in an environment where HR is building repeatable, sustainable, and scalable processes and policies. We are building a world class HR team that can identify broken process or bad policy and quickly rectify it. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Will excel in delivering on all HRBP/Generalist expectations with a particular focus on building repeatable processes, SOPs, policies, and project management responsibilities.
- Lead employee engagement efforts including roundtables, new hire orientation, All-hands communications, stay and exit interviews, etc.
- Maintain daily/weekly contact with our shared services center for HR activities, which may include: payroll, payroll corrections, time off reports, benefit administration, etc.
- Assist the US HR team in building and maintaining an employee friendly culture while also holding team members at all levels accountable for basic performance expectations.
- In partnership with HR COE teams drive and lead a variety of re-occurring HR activities including: salary recommendations, performance management activities, investigations, etc.
- Research and respond to questions from employees and managers regarding Human Resource programs, policies and procedures.
- Must quickly establish and maintain effective work relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices to influence HR activities.
- Ability to coach and influence leaders.
- Strong employee relations skills in a non-union environment.
- Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution.
- Coordinates training/educational activities for leaders as needed.
- Actively participates in both hourly and salaried level recruitment efforts.
- Employee relations counseling including coaching and corrective action administration.
- Participate in staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars, operational status meetings, etc.
- Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Supports and actively partners with EHS and Occupational Health teams (supports safety investigation process).
Here’s what is required to succeed as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner.
- 8+ years professional and progressive experience with a bachelor’s degree in related field, OR 10+ years professional and progressive experience in related field.
- Proficient/expert user/skill of Microsoft’s Programs: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word Computer skills.
- Excellent communication and presentational skills (written and verbal).
- Possess a customer service mindset; seek and obtain first-hand customer information and apply toward improvement(s) in HR related products, processes and services.
- Finely tuned investigative and documentation skills.
- Approachable at all times with high standards around maintaining positive employee relations.
- M.S. Degree in Business, Psychology, or HR or a B.S. degree with a SPHR strongly preferred.
- Hands on HRIS and time collection systems experience is required; Success Factors and Kronos are a plus.
- Strong Generalist experience in a compliance “heavy” environment like: manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or aviation is preferred.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma is strongly preferred.
