As a Cardiology Technician, you will assist the physician with cardiac catheterizations by getting equipment ready, providing a sterile field, monitoring/charting patient vital signs, etc.
Main Location: The main location is at Banner NCMC in Greeley, but you will also be traveling to Banner McKee depending on the needs of the facilities. This position is 7:00am-4:30pm, working four days, Monday-Friday. Weekend call is required based on needs.
Note: Must live within 30 minutes of NCMC and McKee.
Position Summary: This position assists physicians and collaborates with other health professionals during the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimal care/treatment to patient population.
Core Functions:
- Assists during the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures to treat heart disease in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepares patients and work area for procedures in accordance with departmental policies. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments.
- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and techniques, i.e., knowledge of normal and abnormal ECG rhythms and/or lead changes, various hemodynamic values, normal and abnormal pressures, ST elevation/depression.
- Demonstrates the principles of aseptic and sterile techniques as well as universal precautions throughout the procedure.
- Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning.
- Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the scope of practice.
- This position works under the direction of a physician or other health care professional.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Certification for BLS required. ACLS may be required depending on assignment.
- This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2+ years of experience in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab and certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
