Ultrasound Tech / Ultrasonographer / RDMS

Compensation: $29.00 - $39.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and/or vascular exams on patients to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
- Evaluate exams for diagnostic quality, utilizing professional judgment in the performance of services.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, reporting any malfunctions or needs for adjustments.
- Document all procedures and findings in patient's medical record in accordance with hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and answering any questions to ease patient concerns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in continuing education to stay updated with the latest technologies and practices in sonography.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/Gyn, Abdominal, or both.
- RNPS certification in abdominal (AB) and/or obstetrics (OB) required or eligibility for certification.
- Proven ability to perform detailed sonographic examinations using sound judgment.
- Understanding of and ability to apply radiation safety rules and protocols.
- Effective communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting highly preferred.
- Additional certifications in sonography specialties are advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and maintain sophisticated medical equipment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
