Job Summary: Independently analyzes and supports patients with diverse behavioral needs using a broad variety of treatment strategies. Educates and counsels relatives, patients, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with stakeholders (including teachers, caregivers, and other providers), and oversees other team members in conducting assessment, designing treatment plans, implementing interventions, assessing progress, and fading supports to achieve desirable patient outcomes and improve upon one's own practice(s).
- Participates actively in identifying and conducting quality improvement activities and associated research programs, and the dissemination of research findings.
- Provides leadership in the development and implementation of novel behavior analytic programming.
Technical Capabilities:
- Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Advanced): Demonstrates upper-level expertise in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals.
- Discharge Planning (Advanced): Demonstrates uppermost level expertise in the discharge planning process.
- Patient Evaluation (Advanced): Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in conducting patient evaluations in challenging and complex situations.
- Patient Documentation (Advanced): The ability to receive and record patient information.
- Care Coordination (Advanced): Demonstrates ability to coordinate care with other professionals, internal and external to VUMC.
- Dissemination (Advanced): Provide ongoing education, coaching, and consultation grounded in ABA to individuals and teams of parents, community providers, and educators.
- Professional Provider & Family Education (Advanced): Demonstrates proficiency in communicating functional impact of assessment findings.
- Behavior Analyst Treatment Implementation/Supervision (Advanced): Demonstrates proficiency providing treatment consistent with established plan of care.
