Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Inventory Controller will accurately control inventory for all Luxfer MEL Technologies (LMT) maintenance and engineering parts including electrical. The candidate will prepare purchase orders, RFA’s and bid requests, receive purchased items, add received goods to inventory, and maintain information system and historical information and references. He or she will also schedule required maintenance shutdowns and administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Main Responsibilities:
- Control inventory by conducting perpetual inventory counts and reconciling with inventory system; noting when reorder points are reached; retrieving unused or excess supplies and equipment and re-entering them to inventory.
- Maintain a master file of stock items by assigning numbers to new stock items, updating specification files and recording reorder point information.
- Pursue alternate suppliers to ensure current vendor competitiveness at LMT.
- Identify critical Maintenance inventory and remove obsolete items.
- Complete purchase requests by verifying inventory and specifications of purchase requests; preparing stock and equipment requisitions, inputting purchase orders, bid and services requests and expediting deliveries.
- Link inventory items to assets in use on plant.
- Assist the Inventory Controller with transactional data in SAP, booking inventory out etc.; assisting with routine cycle counts.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Agility CMMS, to include entering and assigning work requests, entering new PMs and reviewing data, verifying all data has been entered correctly by building population.
- Driving the integration of Agility with SAP.
- Analyze shutdown workflows to reduce the length of plant outage while maintaining equipment efficiently.
- Identify critical plant assets and develop a planned maintenance regime to maximize production uptime.
- Liaise with contractors, production and engineering leaders to plan and execute maintenance shutdown work across the site.
- Develop and provide requested maintenance reports.
- Maintain and execute scales and calibration programs.
- Schedule tank inspections, sitewide fire inspections, and other required Maintenance programs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- A background in an engineering discipline.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to spot opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and colleagues at all levels.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Self-motivated with ability to use own initiative, prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
- Good time management skills in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player who demonstrates a high level of commitment, adopts a flexible and positive approach.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience with inventory control and project management.
- Experience working within an engineering stores environment.
- Good understanding of planned maintenance and work scheduling.
- Knowledge of TPM methodologies.
- Familiarity with the Agility CMMS system and SAP preferred.
