The ESPN+ Finance team is a multi-functional group that owns the analysis and consolidation of the ESPN+ business, serving as in-house advisors to Disney Entertainment & ESPN executive leadership and operations.
The ESPN+ Finance team is seeking a Senior Analyst that will play a key role in supporting the Direct to Consumer Business, focused on ESPN+, the first-ever multi-sport, direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining subscriber and engagement forecasts, monitoring key performance indicators of top deals and driving comprehensive financial forecasts for the business. Forecasts and reporting will strive to provide operational teams and executive management a snapshot of expected financial performance and will also serve as the basis for ad hoc scenario analysis.
Examples of these analyses include sign up & churn projections, optimization of promotional offers and other subscriber acquisition efforts, evaluation of top deal performance, and forecasting of new product launches. This role will be data-focused, responsible for sharing business insights, providing strategic recommendations, and influencing key operational decisions.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain financial models for ESPN+ Subscribers and new product launches with a focus on key subscription metrics & targets.
- Perform scenario analysis on investments being considered to increase subscriber count and improve user experience.
- Evaluate performance of existing & potential deal performance (incl. UFC, NHL, PGA, La Liga, NFL, College Sports).
- Act as a point of contact for operational support teams (Programming, Ad Sales, Business Operations, Data & Analytics, Executive Reporting, Marketing, Disney+ & Hulu) and ensure alignment on key assumptions and understanding of critical metrics.
- Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials that effectively communicate financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks and opportunities to leadership.
- Maintain a strong understanding of operating performance (e.g. KPIs, subscribers), major deals and transactions, trends, issues, and challenges facing the streaming business.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of relevant finance/strategy experience in media, direct-to-consumer subscription, management/strategy consulting, investment banking or similar fields.
- Expert Excel skills; extensive experience building operating models and analyzing large data sets.
- Excellent communication and PowerPoint skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management.
- Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Subscription / DTC KPIs is highly preferred; media & entertainment industry experience is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier school with a major in Finance, Economics, or similar field.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $98,600 to $132,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
