The Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the New Business team, which includes the daily workload, coaching, training, and production to ensure expectations and timelines are understood and met. Stepping in to provide support, answer questions, or independently conduct research when needed. Identifies unnecessary or out of date processes and takes steps to correct any inefficiency within the department. Researches and advises on requests that are dependent on the collaboration of multiple departments. Completes daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for management and executive management. Hold individual check in meetings to listen, coach, counsel, and assist in helping each individual grow within our organization. Hold monthly team meetings to keep lines of communication open to brainstorm ideas on how to make the department run more efficiently and seamlessly. Handle employee and work-related issues when they arise. Responsible for determining and recommending training needs and planning. Review payroll and attendance. Responsible for employee appraisals. Works closely with other departments/agents/clients to ensure business is processed in a timely manner.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly production of each New Business Specialist
- Review applications that are over the limits of the New Business Specialists, and quality check all applications
- Receive, open, sort, and scan all incoming mail and send to downstream departments for processing
- Responsible for reviewing and reporting discrepancies encountered throughout our daily routines.
- Hold check ins, trainings, and refreshers to ensure the development of the team
- Monitor mail counts to ensure timely processing and staffing
- Audit and review of automated processes weekly.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting for management.
- Review, approve and conduct employee performance appraisals. Coach, counsel, and train staff.
- Responsible for employee scheduling for adequate coverage during vacations and personal/sick days.
- Coordinate staff with other departments to maintain workflow.
- Research complex and/or escalated applications that need additional attention
- Maintaining business supplies and orders
- Coordinate testing of new products and processes within New Business and Underwriting to ensure all compliance requirements are met.
- Assist in the implementation of underwriting policies and procedures related to the processing of new business and other department processes.
- Work with IT for problem resolution and testing of systems and scanning equipment.
- Work with compliance, IT, and marketing for system generated print errors.
- Communicate with management and correct any discrepancies or issues found during audits
- Assist management as necessary.
- Other duties as determined by New Business Management
- Manage, maintain, and export all automated processing associated with Captiva
- Distribute Audit/Issue for processing.
- Maintain Compliance policy pull processor
- Help assist with Resonant project

Required Experience
- High school diploma required - some college preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience in a lead or supervisor position
- 2-4 years’ experience in the life insurance industry
- A combination of education and/or experience can be considered
