Job Purpose
Responsible for assisting with external financial reporting, including but not limited to annual reports, filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory filings as appropriate.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Prepare assigned monthly and quarterly accounting entries, disclosure, and related reports;
- Lead the preparation and filing of 10-Q and 10-K reports in compliance with SEC regulations;
- Manage equity accounting, including stock-based compensation and share transactions;
- Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for international subsidiaries;
- Remeasure foreign currencies and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards;
- Create and analyze cash flow statements to support financial reporting;
- Maintain a strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal controls;
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of major financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement);
- Research and implement new accounting guidance and standards as they arise;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data for financial reporting;
- Assist in the preparation for audits and coordinate with external auditors;
- Perform variance analysis and support management with financial insights;
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations;
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What do I need to be successful?
- 2-4 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, with a focus on SEC reporting with public companies;
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations;
- Experience with equity accounting, financial consolidation, and intercompany eliminations for an international public company;
- Familiarity with ERP systems, financial reporting software, and advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively;
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls;
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges;
- Working knowledge of XBRL.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
Work Environment
- This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
- Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
