PURPOSE
The Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an organization’s accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. The person in this role ensures transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
Reports To: AR Specialist (AR) and Jr. Accountant (AP)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, review and oversee the entry of vouchers into the accounting system.
- Initiates contact with customers having delinquent accounts, determining reason and arranging for collection.
- Audit documentation and support.
- Maintain current and detailed collection notes.
- Provides consistent, professional, courteous and high quality customer service.
- Generate routine reports and schedules.
- Aid in the timely completion of the month-end close process.
- Interaction with the support team will be critical in meeting deadlines and finishing tasks.
- Maintains confidentiality of financial records.
- Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SCOPE DATA
Education:
High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of experience in collections and accounts payable. Knowledge of NetSuite, along with an intermediate level of Excel preferred.
Knowledge of General Accounting:
Must be dependable and organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize. Attention to detail and accuracy are a must. Other key competencies include high degree of confidentiality, judgment, communication skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork and ability to meet deadlines.
Special Skills Required:
Proficiency in basic math and accounting skills.
Physical Work Environment:
This is a work from home environment and involves frequent lifting, bending, twisting and prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
