Social Media Copywriting Specialist
Reports to Social Media Marketing Director
The Social Media Copywriting Specialist is passionate about copywriting, building brand awareness, and coordinating marketing campaigns. The social media team at Word on Fire is fast-paced and collaborative, balancing between their focus on projects and being able to quickly pivot to high priority items. The Social Media Copywriting Specialist will be a self-starter, capable of owning select campaigns from start to finish. The position will have a heavy emphasis on writing social media post text, captions, and video descriptions. Energy and attitude are as important as the technical copywriting skills required.

Responsibilities
Write compelling post text, captions, and video descriptions for content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and YouTube)
Maintain Word on Fire and Bishop Barron’s voice and tone in all text
Project manage social media campaigns from inception to publication
Assist with proofreading and copyediting social media and other sales and marketing campaign texts
Request social media graphics from the Design Team
Review Word on Fire video content and request social media assets from the Production Team, such as video clips
Collect all social media assets, ensuring timely delivery; compile and package the assets for posting across social media channels
Meet deadlines for posting content to Word on Fire and Bishop Barron’s branded social media accounts
Monitor the performance of social media posts for engagement, growth, demographics, reach, and impression analytics in order to develop new strategies to optimize posts, grow views, and increase engagement; compile insight reports as needed
Review social media campaigns written by the marketing team to ensure all social media posts are following best practices and branding and voice guidelines
Requirements
Commitment to the mission of Word on Fire
Familiarity with Bishop Barron, Word on Fire, the Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church, and magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church
Strong copywriting skills with 2 years of copywriting experience in a professional setting
High attention to detail, especially with textual content
Highly creative and driven to explore new social media trends and ideas
Ability to quickly learn new technical skills
Willingness to be on call occasionally in the evenings, on weekends, and over holidays in case of urgent and unexpected requests
Desired Qualifications
An appreciation for the beauty and dignity of the Word on Fire brand
Proficiency in Google Suite
Ability to multitask on several projects and marketing campaigns during a given day
Ability to accomplish tasks quickly and manage time efficiently
Exceptional communication skills, team-oriented
