Salary Range: $35.74 - $36.51 per hour (Start rate determined in accordance with collective agreement)
Hours: 37.50 Hours/Week - Rotating Shifts: Days; Evening; Nights; Weekends and Holidays
Status: Permanent Full-time

The Operating Room at TGH is comprised of 21 Operating Theatres and encompasses a wide variety of surgical services including Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General Surgery, Gyne Oncology, Urology, Head and Neck and Plastics. Our Nurses are provided with a variety of exciting educational and professional development opportunities.
In accordance with relevant legislation and the standards established by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the principal responsibilities of the REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE include: contributing to the patient assessment process; implementing patient care plans; collaborating with other members of the multi-disciplinary health care team; acting as patient advocate; attending seminars and workshops; performing the duties of the scrub nurse; and other duties as assigned.
- Completion of college, or other approved Registered Practical Nursing program including practicum experience
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
- OR experience preferred
- Current medication certificate which meets the standards of practice established by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work under pressure
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
