Registered Nurse (RN)-Hospice Nurse
Parker Jewish Institute Comprehensive Community Hospice is seeking dedicated and compassionate RN-Hospice Nurses to join our team. We want to speak with naturally caring, empathetic RNs who are focused on providing the best quality of end-of- life care possible for every patient.
Community and Inpatient Hospice at Parker Jewish Institute provides comfort, relief, and peace of mind to individuals with advanced or life-limiting illness and their families. We are an intimate and unique not-for-profit program that provides personalized care to ensure the comfort, enhance the quality of life, and preserve the dignity of our patients. Your role will be to ensure these needs are met by providing direct care, ongoing symptom management, documented coordination of care and family support for our patients.

The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, conveniently located on the Queens-Nassau County border in New Hyde Park, New York, is a non-profit health care facility that offers inpatient programs such as sub-acute/short term rehabilitation, long-term care and nursing home care, as well as community health services encompassing certified home health care and a comprehensive community hospice program that serves terminally ill patients in their own homes or in nursing facilities, including Parker's nursing home.

Position Requirements
-
Current New York State license as a registered nurse (RN)
-
BSN degree from an accredited school a plus
-
1+ years of experience as an RN in a Medical/Surgical or similar role

Previous community RN experience in hospice or home care a plus but not required-we provide training and mentorship!

Knowledge of care coordination a plus

Able to use computer technology and electronic medical records in the field

Access to reliable transportation and willing to conduct home visits
