Overview
Job Summary:
Manages the operations of the laboratory with primary focus in pre and post-analytical areas, laboratory outreach and laboratory compliance. Responsible for identifying, qualifying and creating new business relationships among the outreach activity and various customer segments within the defined market. Maintains the needs of current accounts and ensures client satisfaction. Updates and implements all new client communications and education efforts, including regulatory billing requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of the group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Participates in the identification of market opportunities and needs while contributing to refining services and offerings. Improves knowledge and serves as an organizational resource to existing and potential outreach clients.
- Works with the Lab Access Specialist on the collection of QA data and the identification of opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews and updates all outreach procedures and standards to ensure adherence with regulatory (federal and accrediting) agencies.
- Oversees all laboratory billing, establishing pricing, reviews charges and bills for outreach clients.
- Provides billing and coding information for laboratory testing.
- Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to adjust to changing situations and work assignments.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions and have a broad knowledge of hospital philosophies, standards, and procedures.
- Job requires skills to make nimble and sound decisions, ability to problem solve unique issues and have a strong attention to detail both for the organization and the client.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degrees: Bachelor’s Physical/Life Science or related field
- Experience: 5-10 years
- Licenses & Certifications: MT-ASCP or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degrees: Master’s Degree Physical/Life Science or related field
- Supervisor Experience: 2-5 years
