AdventHealth Medical Group Palliative Care Lead APP Inpatient Opportunity
General Summary: The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
- Work collaboratively on promoting best practice and clinical care
- Participate in POC or unit meetings and committees to strengthen clinical partnership, enhance operational effectiveness and encourage team members to participate in process improvement and provide timely communication
- Promotes a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration
- Identify and address potential safety, quality of care and professionalism issues
- Promote a positive work culture through recognition and appreciation practices
Leadership Responsibility:
- Manages staffing schedule with assistance
- Participates in business development, policies and procedures
- Works with staff to organize APP specific CEU’s
- Develop educational pathways for new hired APPs including precepting APP students
- Ensure that the team is up to date with the latest clinical guidelines and protocols
- Work collaboratively to identify areas for improvement, processes and implement strategies for improvement in clinical and operational aspects under the direction of the Physician practice leader and SPC APP Specialty Director
- Serves as liaison between APPs and clinical staff
- Partners with POC triad leaders for the oversight of the local APP team within the practice and collaborates/reports to SPC APP Specialty Director
- Optimizes APP role in designated clinical area for efficiency, effectiveness, top of license, and options for billing/revenue potential
- Participates in APP interviewing
- Participates in AHMG APP Council
- Uphold mission, vision, values, and service standards and promote an environment that inspires commitment, engagement and results
- Provides feedback for annual evaluations; partners with POC triad to ensure alignment with Annual Management Performance Targets
- Demonstrate and drive clinical and psychological safety within the practice
Clinical Responsibility:
- Performs physical examinations and medical management of patients including new consults, admissions, follow up and discharging of patients
- Primary campus is AH Orlando with coverage at other locations as needed
- Provide symptom management for patients
- Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests
- Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referrals as needed
- Collaborates as needed to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
- Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth

Required Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
- Experience in Palliative care, ICU hospitalist, or oncology Required
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
- Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license
- ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) or NCCPA Certification
- Current BLS
