Cath Lab Rad Tech is responsible for performing radiological examinations as required by staff physician’s orders and under the direction of the Radiologist. Performs various types of diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjusts x-ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure, and positions patients. Assists physicians in assigned examinations utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations. Identifies, interviews, screens, and explains procedures to patients. Prepares equipment and supplies. Checks, recalibrates, and tests calibrating equipment.

Cath Lab Scrub Tech performs a variety of duties in the Cath lab procedure room to assist the team before, during, and after intervention including arranging sterile set-up for the procedure, acting as scrub or circulating assistant, and assisting in clean-up after the procedure. The Scrub Tech will also assist in nursing care and preparation of Cath Lab patients, providing appropriate instrumentation, suture, and all supplies as requested while maintaining a sterile environment. Monitors PAR level of all instruments and supplies used. The Scrub Tech works under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist and/or Director, Cath Lab.
Minimum Requirements:
- One year of Rad Tech experience preferred.
- Must have a current Louisiana Radiologic Tech license (LSRT).
- Current ARRT registration verified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
- Current BLS/CPR Certification required.
