Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.
What You'll Do
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting them to reach desired outcomes.
- Build relationships and manage discomfort, maintaining professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
- Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Work with colleagues and the community to create a care plan, delegating tasks carefully and following up promptly.
- Use various strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff, recognizing limitations and prioritizing safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth.
- Contribute to peers' development and show commitment to community service.
A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures, is essential. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area, along with an understanding of hospital procedures and rules, is required.
Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects is necessary. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights is crucial.
Exceptional communication skills are required, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing. Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties are essential.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities are necessary, driving effective critical thinking. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email, are required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in nursing.
- A current and valid nursing license.
- BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of starting in this role.
- All certifications must be AHA.
