Position Summary:
The Transport Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for all aspects of patient care, before, during, and after transport of Critical Care patients from one department to another. The Transport Registered Nurse must adequately assess the patient and in conjunction with the sending department staff to determine the patient’s needs for transport. The Transport Registered Nurse must maintain a high performance level in quality, service, critical nursing skills and critical thinking. The Transport Registered Nurse must be familiar with and adhere to Regulatory Standards and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital Policies and Procedure.
Required Qualifications:
- Current California R.N. Licensure. Current BLS and ACLS Certifications. Minimum of (1) year nursing experience in Critical Care Setting
- Exercises excellent observation and sound nursing judgment, excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs. Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills.
- Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Previous Critical Care Transport Experience.
