About the Job:
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
We are excited to offer a career opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at our state-of-the-art Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) in Madison, WI. This role involves managing complex clinical situations including trach/vent patients, complicated wounds, and multiple co-morbidities in a dynamic and busy LTACH environment. You will be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, collaborating closely with Hospitalists and aiming to maintain our excellent quality metrics and clinical standards through our proprietary protocols.
Compensation: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital setting.
- Management of patient care including tracheostomies, ventilators, and complex wounds.
- Evaluate and respond to acute changes in patient conditions, making timely decisions on necessary actions.
- Collaborate with Hospitalists and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Assist in implementing clinical protocols and quality metrics to ensure high standards of clinical outcomes.
- Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives aimed at advancing medical excellence.
- Maintain accurate patient records, incorporating all relevant clinical data and treatment plans.
- Work within a 7 on/7 off schedule with weekend rotations, ensuring consistent patient care and team coverage.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of acute inpatient hospital experience, with significant autonomy.
- Eligible for licensure and certification in the State of Wisconsin.
- Strong clinical skills in complex acute care, including ventilatory and wound care management.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Long-Term Acute Care or similar settings.
- Additional certification related to acute or long-term care specialties.
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical settings, particularly in protocol or quality initiative implementation.
- DEA certification and a state license preferred.
- Proven track record in reducing readmission rates and advancing clinical outcomes.
