Mercer Financial Planning & Analysis team is seeking a Senior Finance Manager candidate based in New York City.

This position is responsible for providing direct support to Mercer’s US Health B2B business on strategic / change initiatives and collaborating with the Mercer US Health team to accelerate the businesses and region’s growth agenda. B2B generates over $800M a year in revenue and is the single largest sub business across Mercer globally.
The ideal candidate will be expected to partner with finance and commercial leaders to provide insightful decision support and business partnership. The candidate will support a wide range of initiatives from P&L management, performance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, strategic growth decisions, and other activities aimed at driving both top and bottom-line growth at Mercer.

Mercer US Health is looking for a collaborative individual who is able to grasp various business models and resolve complex issues to provide recommended actions. An ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization will be key and the ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, accuracy, and a bias for action to ensure that tangible insights are generated with limited oversight.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Partner with Zone Practice Leaders and Operations Leaders to drive sustainable profitable growth:
- P&L management
- KPI analysis
- Client profitability
- Market segmentation by industry and client size
- Support pricing governance and inflation analysis
- Oversee the budget, strategic planning, forecasting, financial reporting and other financial operations at a complex and large-scale business level
- Manage financial planning and analysis to contribute to short and long-term financial goals, business operations and decisions
- Develop presentations and reports to inform business leaders and senior management regarding financial performance, business trends/outlook, results and capital investment
- Create and maintain financial models, perform variance analyses and develop business cases and investment summaries
- Oversee reporting and support provided by the offshore team including reviewing work product, coaching colleagues, and addressing adhoc requests to meet business partner needs
- Partner with sales compensation leads to ensure alignment with the sales compensation plans and support enhancements to the improve accuracy and overall sales colleague experience
- Sales to revenue modeling including ‘need to make’ and retention analysis
- Undertaking analysis to establish areas of opportunity within the current business performance by solution and identify proposed actions to capitalize against market opportunity
- Support transformation initiatives as applicable, including M&A, and profit improvement plans; business is looking at inorganic growth opportunities and will need to provide financial support to help in decision making
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years of experience with financial modeling, analytical problem solving, and manipulating large amounts of data
- Strong Powerpoint and Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative nature
- Great organization skills with the ability to handle multiple work streams simultaneously
- Comfortable working with colleagues at all levels across a global organization
- Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines and take on special projects alongside ongoing activity

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections, and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $108,500 to $216,800.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
