Staff Accountant - Cincinnati, OH
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support external audit activities by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification or progress towards CPA.
- Experience in financial services industry.
- Familiarity with tax preparation and compliance.
