The Internal Auditor is responsible for performing internal audit projects, as part of the overall risk-based internal audit plan, which includes developing the scope of internal audit projects, performing internal audit procedures, and assisting in the preparation of internal audit reports. This position covers key functional areas, operating units, and sites with a focus on financial, information technology, and operational audits.
Essential Functions
Lead and execute SOX compliance testing, including risk assessment, control documentation, testing, and reporting.
- Perform internal audit projects as part of the overall risk-based internal audit plan.
- Perform internal control assessments of financial processes in Avient's global operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive process improvements and implement best practices in internal controls.
- Identify key controls within these processes and ensure their effectiveness. Lead remediation efforts for control deficiencies.
- Perform follow-up reviews of outstanding internal audit issues and participate in investigations.
- Support Internal Audit leadership in managing the Company's ethics and compliance function as needed.
- Other projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- One or more of the following designations preferred: CPA, CIA, CFE, CMA.
- 1 to 3 years of Accounting/Finance or related experience, with a strong focus on SOX.
- Proficient knowledge of SOX regulations and internal control concepts.
- Audit experience with Big Four public accounting firm or manufacturing experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Experience with data analytics and related tools.
- Global experience preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP.
